Rinehart Targets makes self-healing foam archery targets in Janesville, Wisconsin — the same targets shot at backyard ranges, 3D courses, and world championships across the country. We're a family-owned factory, and we're hiring target builders. Build the targets the archery world shoots at.
One more piece of straight talk: your arms will be sore your first week. Everyone's are. It fades fast — and the pay ladder means the work your hands are learning turns into raises within your first month. Recent hires hit $20+ per hour within 30 days. That's our expectation — think you can work in an environment like this? Apply and let's talk.
You're paid on a published pay ladder: run more good targets against the clock, and your rate goes up. The full chart is printed and handed to you on day one — $18 per hour to start, up to $28 per hour base, with your rate reviewed every two weeks. No annual review, no asking, no politics. Your numbers do the talking.
We're straight with people about this: we've been busy all year, so expect regular Friday overtime — currently mandatory most weeks, optional on others. Every Friday hour is paid at time-and-a-half on top of wherever you sit on the ladder. If you want the hours, they're here; if a guaranteed 4-day week every week is a must for you, this isn't the right season to join us.
- Build archery targets using molds of various sizes — we train you on everything
- Set mold bolts into place fast — our crew says it feels like a NASCAR pit stop
- Run your own station for stretches of the shift: clear target, your pace to manage, nobody hovering over you
- Operate machinery and hand/power tools following our procedures
- Record your production on a simple daily card — it's how your pay is calculated, and we teach you exactly how it works
- Keep your work area safe and clean
- Lift 20-80 lbs; stand, bend, twist, and reach through a full shift
This job rewards people who like to see their numbers and get paid for their output. If you've worked piece-rate or performance pay before — or you're just tired of watching slower coworkers earn the same wage you do — you'll like it here.
Quick hands and good aim help here: if you wrench on engines, shoot a bow, play ball, or game competitively, you've already got a head start. We look for:
- Self-motivation and a positive attitude
- Teamwork — we win as a shift
- Basic math, counting, reading, and writing
- Reliability — the ladder rewards people who show up
No factory experience required. You get a printed guide on day one that explains exactly how your pay is calculated, and a personal scorecard for every pay period showing where you stand and what your next raise takes.
- Health insurance with health savings account
- Company-paid life insurance and short-term disability
- Dental and vision plans available
- 401(k) Simple plan with 3% match
- Vacation, personal time, and paid holidays
- Employee discount on our targets
- Monthly birthday lunches
That's our expectation. If you think you can work in an environment like this, apply today — we review applications daily and interview fast.
